It is unclear whether the birth of the child will mark the end of her successful career as one of the best Czech tennis players in history. In 2011, Kvitová also triumphed at the Tournament of Champions. She reached second place in the world rankings during her career. On the WTA circuit, the left-handed player from Fulnek won 31 singles titles, last year she won tournaments in Miami and Berlin. She finished her most recent season in 2023 in fourteenth place in the world rankings. In 2016, she won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and also helped secure victory in the Fed Cup six times. The native of Bílovec last appeared on the courts at the beginning of October last year, when she lost in the second round to Russian Ljudmila Samsonova at the Beijing tournament. Among Kvitová's former national team teammates, Barbora Strýcová, Andrea Sestini Hlaváčková, and Lucie Šafářová are already mothers of two.
